Eastin's: A Little Family

Family pictures do not have to be lame. All you need is my back yard, random dresser drawers sitting in my neighbors drive way for the last year, a 10 year old water barrel, and a cool family that is up for anything.
I have been wanting to do the bird in trees idea for a while. I hope you can tell those red things are birds? You can right?

Control

This picture and the series bellow are senior pictures. I love it when clients give me the artistic freedom to let me do anything I want. When clients allow me to take complete create control, the pictures turn out better than we both anticipated.

SNOW PUPPY

Olive loves the snow so we threw her on our backs and hit the trails. When we let her down, she dives right into he snow. When her tinny paws get cold, she runs back to us and jumps up and down so that we can put her into the bag pack.

Olive is 9 months old and only 5 pounds. We take her every where with us and everyone has to pet and hold her, she loves it. She is a mini pin Chihuahua mix. I hated dogs and never ever thought I would have one. I hated them because they shed, slobber, poop, bark like crazy, have bad breath and scare me. Olive is not really a dog she is like an over sized mouse. The shedding: I have a lint roller on hand at all times. Slobber: She does not slobber. Do little dogs slobber? I dont think so. Poop: We have her house trained (except the accident she had at my sisters the other morning, sorry guys). I wipe her down with baby wipes every time she goes poop. Barking: She only barks when some one comes to the door. Bad breath: We have dogie breath spray for that.

Olives nick names: Pup, Puppy Wup, Baby Olive, Pupa Reno, Reno, Stinky Stinky, Sleepy Sleepy, Sneaky Sneaky, Wiener, Weasel, Weas Ma Geeze, Geezers and the lasted Paper Pooper because she pooped out a big long piece of paper the other day.

BABY AVA

My sister Giuliana's new baby,.
Ava looks peaceful but every time we put her down she cried her cute little face off. The shoot lasted a few more hours than we thought. It was well worth it.

RACHEL'S CUTE LITTLE FAMILY

When my dearest friend Rachel came to me to take her family pictures I wanted to do something different. I am so sick of seeing family pictures taken in front of colored walls or an abandoned buildings  in Provo. I decided that a weird stuffed gazelle and a fake forest would be the best solution.

THREE YEARS DOWN ETERNITY TO GO

For our anniversary Brad and I went on a snowshoeing tour. It was the first time shoeing for both of us. I ski and Brad has only been snow boarding a few times. Snowshoeing seemed like the best winter activity we could do together. We had such a neat time we bought snowshoes the next day. We recently annihilated  Snake Creek Canyon  in Midway. Snowshoeing is great because you can hit flat terrain or you can go straight up the mountain and have a more intense work out.
Look how cute Brad is.

Three Graces

These painting were my inspiration behind my photographic version of the Three Graces. The bottom painting is by Botticelli. The middle painting is by Raphael. The three graces are typically grouped so that the two outer figures face the viewer, and the one in the middle faces away. This is a traditional composition, known and copied by the Renaissance. Florentine Philosophers of the 15th century saw them as three phases of love: beauty, arousing desire, leading to fulfillment; alternatively, as the personification of Chastity, Beauty and Love.

In my version of the Three Graces the women appear to be greek statues. I wanted my statues to appear soft, yet stiff and frozen at the same time. To achieve graceful movements, I choose a ballet dancer as my model. I used a plain black back ground so the statues would pop out and be the main focus.

I know I know I get real serious when I talk art

ENGAGEMENTS

Angela and Jared are so great for trusting me to do whatever I wanted. The night this was shot was rainy and windy, not good condition to have lighting equipment outside. Not to mention I have a huge fear of being socked by lighting equipment when its not wet outside. We thought we   were going to have to cancel.

The owl and birdcage, I wanted to do before I even met with Angela to discuss the pictures. When I told her about my bird idea she was sold on it. She told me she has always had this thing for owls. There is an owl theme  throughout the wedding.  On Jared and Angela's invitations is a illustration of an owl. They also order a 3d owl cake.

A Day In The Life Of Brad, Day 18: The Powell Ripper

The Ripper was a graphic from the 80's for the Powell skate team the Bones Brigade. The Ripper is one of the most famous and bootlegged image in skateboard history. Brad drew this in Illustrator, then screen printed it. Brad has waited about five years to make this shirt and so he made about ten of them. To learn more about the Ripper watch this video
